Blind Mama, true Christmas Miracle needs a Mom. Blind, deaf and NOW FAMOUS thanks to her friend Amber - Please see Natasha's line at http://www.cafepress.com/blinddogrescuealliance/7980834
Blind Mama (Natasha) needs a loving Mom- Mama is a delightful blind and mostly deaf ex-breeding girl, very smart, very happy, extremely aware of her surroundings. Mama is house-trained, walks on leash, has the softest beautiful fur, HW negative, UTD on all shots and is spayed, goes up and down stairs effortlessly and loves attention, just needs her own Furever Home. Mama's home will need to be aware of a few extras on how to care for this special doggie yet she's worth the effort and is a real love; Mama isso affectionate and more than ever is needing the touch a human Mom could provide - is that you?. :-)~
Medium energy level, medium size, 3yo, very loving, good with adults & older kids, good with most dogs and cats (especially the babies!), house-trained, healthy, great appetite, very positive personality, gives great kisses.
Mama does everything a 'normal' dog does - loves her walks, loves giving and getting attention, gives sweet kisses, enjoys lazing around the living room and sleeping soundly, really enjoys playing with her tennis balls and furry football, is very inquisitive, enjoys time in her outside pen likely more than any other doggie, is an enthusiastic eater and was our first "raw" eater. Mama is a tremendous doggie ... just a dog!
December 24, 2010 Blind Mama was living in a cold outdoor pen at the highest-kill shelter in GA, just recently freed from an abuseful breeding situation, with her time running out ... with no arrangements made, a group of Blind Dog and other rescue friends, folks from maritime Canada to TN to GA and AL all decided to assist in a miracle, and when Christmas morning arrived Mama was safe and warm with a full belly and happy in rescue! Now Mama - giver of America's sweetest doggie kisses - needs her own loving Furever Family; is that you?
Mama Natasha Fun Facts: Mama loves to play with her tennis ball and often catches it on the bounce! Mama stops at the sofa each time upon returning to the house for some good loving; Mama loves surprise treats; Mama "Dances" Yep, Mama does this little tap dance like routine with either her front 2 or all 4 legs before and while playing - it's hilarious and she's having a great time!! Perhaps you will open your heart and home to Mama and she will be your Christmas Miracle 2012!

Percy (Coton Boy!)
Tiny Percy, our grumpy old man, came from Atlanta, found wandering in the street with bad ear and eye infections, supposedly blind and deaf - he is neither! Percy is both vision and hearing impaired, though very smart, funny, loving and sweet with his special human, he 'talks' like Cotons do and he wants to be with his people, especially loving cuddling up at night. Percy has hair - not fur - so is great for folks with allergies, is HW negative, up to date on shots, neutered, just had a non-cancerous tumor removed, walks well on leash, is house-trained and is a healthy, complete dog except for one item - Percy needs his own Furever Home ... is that you? If you'll love this little delight, Percy will bless you and your home with his loving, sweet personality and spirit.
Couch-potato energy level, small size, 4-5 yo, very loving - though plays hard-to-get - good with adults, good with most dogs (not Alpha males),chases cats, house-trained, healthy, great appetite, independent positive personality. Percy has overcome likely a very tough life; sometimes he startles when being awakened so we do that very gently and Percy is indeed settling in. Percy has skin allergies that are healing and requires daily brushing for his beautiful hair.
Percy Fun Facts: Percy has a cute sounding bark and "talk," a Coton trait; Percy is an independent boy yet loves to be near and then touching his humans; Percy was very close with blind Pug Oliver (now in his own PA Furever Home!) and likes all the little doggies yet barks at all the big doggies! Percy's favorite time is just before sleep and he 'submarines' into the bed; after pottying Percy has a fiesty rake; Percy has a beautiful look as he walks around with head and tail up high ... he's come so far, this wonderful little love Percy; please make room for Percy in your heart and home.

Buttercup - Buddha Ballerina (pittie pit bull)
Blind Buttercup has had everything go wrong in her life until now: blind, used as a bait dog to fighters, bred non-stop, cramped in the tiniest crate in a 'sanctuary' that when closed just turned her loose to be attacked and bitten. When wife Val went to rescue Buttercup she found an emaciated, ear and eye infected, with an open facial bite wound, depressed doggie... not any more!!
Buttercup is such a love, enjoys hugs and snuggles, now very happy, prancing about like a dancing ballerina, great appetite, barking in joy, tail always wagging, completely healed and healthy, Heartworm negative (yeah!), up-to-date on all shots and preventative, filled out nicely, magnificent fur. Buttercup isour all-time favoritedoggie to hug; she's solid and loves getting hugged, tail wags like crazy and she gives great kisses. Buttercup will so appreciate and love her Furever Family with all of her sweet beautiful self and gives back much more than given.
Medium-low gentle energy level, medium thick size, 3-4 yo, very loving, great with adults & kids, guarded and avoids other dogs, dislikes cats, house-trained, crate-trained, healthy, great appetite, very positive personality, super affectionate.
Buttercup Fun Facts: Called Buddha Ballerina because during her beloved walks, Buttercup seems to dance up high on her toes, moving quickly and tremendously enjoying her strolls; Buttercup likes to be hugged and petted and gives great kisses in return. Buttercup loves her time outside, enjoys her naps, likes the good eats that have helped her fill out so nicely. Buttercup is smart and observant; connected to a always-wagging happy tail, positive and loving Buttercup will steal your heart forever! Will you provide Buttercup a Furever Home in exchange for the love she will give you forever? :-)~

Dolly (Tibetan Terrier) Dahlia Llama
Today Dolly (Dahlia Llama) is a happy, confident, healthy doggie wanting her own Furever Home and her own special person she will love in return. It wasn't always so good ...
... on April 18, 2011 wife Val returned from the failed Lewiston FL 'sanctuary' with several blind doggies, including Dolly who was so very sick: eyes swollen shut with infection, ears just as bad, maggots in open sores, broken teeth - Dolly was a mess and very ill and in much pain. Rescuer friend and vet Ashley came and treated Dolly, we bathed and fed her much and loved on Dolly and she first survived then thrived here and now is ready for the next chapter of her little life, one filled with giving and receiving love.
Dolly is couch-potato energy level, small size yet very solid and healthy, all shots, Heartworm negative (yeah!) and on HW prevention, microchipped, both house and crate trained - Dolly actually prefers her crate as a safe place, enjoys time outside in the yard, gets along with other dogs, loves to be petted yet is a very self-sufficient, independent girl that has survived a tough life. Dolly has limited vision and hearing and requires limited daily care for her dry-eye, including affordable over-the-counter eye drops (several month's worth provided). Otherwise Dolly is now very healthy and has a great appetite including for healthy raw and/or kibble ... and for loving.
Dolly Fun Facts: Dolly loves the big house fan and will face and stare into it (please see pic!); Dolly sleeps soundly and will 'put herself to bed' in her beloved crate; Dolly enjoys her leash walks and always does 'all business' while on walk; Dolly will bark when she needs out (and when hungry!); Dolly enjoys cuddling though it is obvious she has been hurt by humans so is slightly reserved until she trusts you, then Dolly LOVES to be touched and held and loved on ... is Dolly the right doggie to join your family? Please email us and help Dolly get Furever Home to you!

Twixie (SharPei, Malinois Shepherd)
A very hungry, scared and skinny Twixie wandered up to our home, perhaps attracted by the food smells and other doggies. Twixie is now very healthy and happy and needs a special Furever Home in return for her sweetest love and many other great traits.
Twix has a beautiful square wrinkled lovey head that is fun to rub on! Twix is very athletic, runs fast, enjoys walks and much enjoys giving and getting her loving. Shar Peis are smart and confident, dominant, loyal and devoted protectors of their family, with a strong prey drive and a mellow engaged personality with theirhumans- Twix is all of that and more.
Medium energy level, tall medium size with athletic build, 1 yo, very loving, good with adults though like with all SharPeis you MUST be the boss, good with active dogs, dislikes cats, leash and house-trained, healthy, great appetite, independent positive personality. Heartworm negative (yeah!), all shots and spayed, microchipped and totally healthy. Twixie is a good guard dog, would be a super hike or jogging buddy, is equally comfortable lazing in or out of the house, and really likes her affection plus gives the very best kisses!
Twixie Fun Facts:Twix has beautiful plush light brown fur, is always tail-waggin' happy, notices everything around her and is smart; Twixie is extremely loyal and protective and will always be a great guard doggie; Twixie has the loveliest broad head with wrinkles and a look that makes you want to pet and kiss her head; Twixie is very easy-going and calm and very loving with her people. If you will provide the Furever Home, Twixie will be your loyal loving companion, watch dog, hiking buddy, and love of your life - sounds good huh? Email today and take Twixie home soon!

Elvis (Party Cocker) Elvis lives!
Yes, Elvis is alive and well in rescue, in the form of a healthy, happy, beautiful Party Cocker boy, purebred with AKC papers, very affectionate and smart and just a super doggie. simply needing his new Furever Home to be complete.
We heard about Elvis from a GA friend; Elvie was about to be put down by his previous caregiver due to eye and other issues. We agreed to rescue Elvie, had his troublesome eye removed (Elvis was a great patient and is fully healed), and groomed down to short hair; Elvis is white with black spots, a very beautiful registered Party Cocker with magnificent healthy fur.
Elvie has been loved before and it shows; he is very comfortable loving on his human and getting petted in return. Elvis much enjoys walks, will alert you when he needs to go out, is totally potty and leash trained, is up-to-date on all shots, Heartworm negative (yeah!) and on preventative, and microchipped.
Elvis is very playful and most enjoys his green plastic bowl or his furry duckie. Elvis prefers sleeping with his human though is good sleeping in a crate (open here) or on the floor or sofa. Elvis is great with Kayla, a tiny blind/deaf/neuro issues puppy newly arrived here. Elvis plays with her, sniffs and wags his lovely stump and hind end, and jumps about in joy with Kayla.
Medium energy level, medium size, 5 yo, very loving, good with adults & loves kids, good with most dogs, chases cats, house-trained, healthy, great appetite (eats kibble though not raw), very positive personality, bonds closely and totally loves his human family, is an excellent athlete and is very happy and confident.
Elvis Fun Facts: Elvie is silly with his duckie, shaking it and throwing it about. His favorite toy is his simple green plastic bowl which he also tosses about and fetches, a funny sight! Elvis likes his belly rubbed, ears too, and will sit next to you for hours - or if invited, will climb up on you for loving. Elvie is magnificently soft and smooth, very healthy and happy, just needs his own Furever Home family pack ... is that you? Please email/call us and set in motion Elvis coming to join your home! Thank you.

Dory(Australian Shepherd/Catahoula) Puppy needs a Mama!
Last day on Death Row in Pell City AL, blind puppy Dory needed a miracle. Wife Val could not bear it, called wonderful volunteer Neva and they met on handoff - Dory was safe!
Dory had spent the last three weeks in a concrete cell with her twin and a pair of smaller puppies, all blind, Absolutely no interest until the last day when all were freed... Dory was SO happy to feel grass under her feet and the wind on her fur. Dory's sister and friends went north to fosters with BDRA and Dory was welcomed here.
Dory arrived happy yet insecure, full of worms and skinny. Dory has been fully vetted and is up-to-date on all shots, spayed and microchipped, and is settling in nicely, spending nights inside and most days outside, weather permitting, where she plays, runs about, hides all of her stuff in her doghouse and ... stands on top of the doghouse!
Dory needs a Mom very badly; likely Dory was seperated from her furry Mama too early. Dory is super sweet, very affectionate, happy to give and receive loving yet is not confident as a doggie, though we love on her and work to spend much time with this litle sweetie.
Dory appears to see just a tiny bit - shadows perhaps - yet her other senses are keen and she maps out areas well. Dory is totally healthy otherwise, with some of the most beautiful, plush fur you will ever see.
Dory is close to potty trained, though like all puppies needs more frequent walks than adult doggies. Dory is just learning leash walking and is a very smart little girl.
Dory is medium energy level, medium sized, very athletic, likely born Oct 2011, Heartworm negative (yeah!) and current on all meds, HW and flea treatments. Dory just lacks a Mom, family, pack and/or a Furever Home.
Dory Fun Facts: Dory's expressions are funny to watch, Dory can howl - also funny - and her entire body appears to wiggle when she is approached. Dory loves affection, gives great kisses, enjoys hugging, plays and hides all of her toys when not in use. A Dory on the dog-house roof is a fairly common and amusing sight!
Might Dory be the doggie you are looking for. If you will provide Dory a small place in your heart and home, Dory will provide you a lifetime of loyal love and affection. Email us and soon sweet Dory can be giving you those kisses.
Harmony has a Furever Home with Amanda and Jacob!!! Yeah! :-)~
Harmony is a Miniature Pinscher, blind and diabetic and a very happy girl! Harmony is energetic, loves giving kisses, curling up with you (or in a blanket or her kennel) and enjoys her walks. Harmony would literally be happy cuddling with her human 24-hours a day - she is a lovey, this one. Harmony gets along well with our entire pack, has tons of personality and is a positive and happy girl.
Harmony was nearly euthanized by her past human, then our vet's office called and asked if we could take her in. She's been fully vetted, HW- and on HW preentative and her diabetes is completely under control requiring 2 shots daily. Harmony is completely blind yet is extremely smart and has mapped our two homes and yards out, goes up and down stairs easily and travels about comfortably.
Harmony now has a Furever Home and family with Mandy and Jacob and their pack. We will always love Harmony and are thankful for all the joy she brought to our pack and family.

Macey (Zihna)
On May 2, 2010 I carried perfect Macey for the last time in this world, to a backyard burial site, and now she is waiting, playing at Rainbow Bridge.
Val and I are so thankful to each of you for your support and especially to those who brought Macey to us: Danielle, Colleen & Karen who facilitated Macey to BDRA, Kim for noticing an issue during transport and keeping her in VA (which allowed Andrew to go to Karen & Eric and on to a Forever Home). Kim and Val then spent a Sunday transporting this sweet girl back home to us.
Though a BDRA doggie, Macey had good vision; she was mostly deaf and had neurological issues and learning disabilities. Macey truly was at home and we were perfect for her. Val has a deaf sister and a daughter, Kayla, that passed away at 16 from heart failure and also had some issues that Macey faced. So - though not blind at all - Macey through BDRA found herself in our home, the one right place in the world for her.
That same day, I did a write-up for Macey's adoption page and we laughed about it, knowing Macey would not be adopted - too many issues. Macey would live all her life with us and Val was already figuring what to do next winter as Macey just loved being outdoors all day and would pout and whine when kept in.
Of course we built her a special pen, placed along a tree line for shade plus covered too. Macey would play there, with us or alone, sometimes with Mama Buffy or neighbor doggie Rascal. She loved to lie low, ready to pounce on her prey - us! Macey enjoyed her rawhides, stuffies and being loved on. It took awhile, yet she gave such good kisses and loved the ritual of nighttime loving before bed, a loving she received each and every night ... good for her and even better for us.
All of us will pass, though we know not when. Some will have long lives, others like Macey short ones. We can only hope to really have lived ... Macey really did live. Macey played, she was happy, she loved us and we loved Macey. Macey knew she was home here and fit right in to our pack of misfits, defectives and cast-offs. Macey was a Bassim and a BDRA doggie and again Val and I thank each of you for helping make that true. Please enjoy lovely Macey's pictures, attached.
