Back on April 17-18, 2011, Val headed down to the 'sanctuary' debacle to hopefully return with the pittie named Brownie we sent there. Brownie was nowhere to be found amid the horrible conditions; Brownie is likely dead.
Val did however bring back one 3-legged and five blind doggies ... as well as four babies born two days later to one of these "Refugees!" Below please find before and after pictures of these doggies plus several happy stories of what's occurred in the past month with these angels. :-)~

Blind and feral Free Eskie finally trusts enough!
Feral boy named Free Eskie has come a long way. Week 1 Free spent in a 6'x8' fully covered pen slowly allowing us to touch him, then we moved him to a 10'x20' covered though Free was totally angered by the slip-lead and made sure I knew that. Being an Eskie, Free is lightening quick as well as way smarter than I am and feral - a tough combination. Anyway on 05/26/11 we faced storms with hail and possible tornadoes so I decided to press the issue, wrapped Free's body in a blanket, finally landed the collar on his face and pulled back to his neck over snarling teeth ... then Free seemed to say "OK; all is cool now!" We went for a long walk then Free spent the night crated in the 'Refugee House' and did fine this morning. Yeah Free!

Please find pics following of the Refugee House and Refugee rear pens followed by shaded front pens for summer and the large side Family and Frankie Pens

Where's Grover?
Little feral one-eyed Grover - the girl that came forth growling and barking to protect Miracle Mom's pups - moved inside when Harmony found her Furever Home with Amanda and Jacob (another YEAH!). Grover is a dog on the move, constantly mapping out and investigating her surroundings, getting along well with all doggies and finally allowing Val and me to love on her. We've got a long way to go yet we've also come a long way on reaching this 'hurt' girl Grover.
Grover spends non-storm days with Dahlia Lama and stormy days and all nights in the house. Please enjoy Grover pics taken rainy 05/26/11 while Grover was here, there and everywhere!
